How OLSAS calculates GPA
The rules, straight from OUAC OLSAS Instruction Booklet.
- OLSAS converts each individual course grade to a 4.0 value via the OUAC Undergraduate Grade Conversion Table. Trent transcripts fall on Scale 3 (percentage grades).
- The Scale 3 table caps at 4.00 for 90-100%. Older references that showed OLSAS capping at 3.9 are wrong.
- Course grades are converted first, then credit-weighted. Never average percentages and convert the total.
- OLSAS reports cumulative and, where applicable, best-year averages. Individual law schools may use only one, or combine with LSAT weightings this tool does not model.
- OLSAS makes the official calculation on your submitted transcript. Use this tool as a directional check, never as your submitted number.
