Privacy
Local-first, by design.
Your grades stay on your device
Everything you enter in the tracker · courses, assignments, scores, past terms · is stored in your browser's local storage. There is no account, no database of student records, and no way for us to read your grades. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so export a backup from the tracker if you switch devices.
What leaves your device
Three features call our servers, and all three forward what you send to Anthropic, our AI provider, then return the answer to your browser: syllabus parsing (the file or text you drop), the orb assistant (your message plus a short summary of the course you're viewing), and the teacher comment drafter (the student name and grade summary a teacher enters). We store none of it. Anthropic processes the data in the United States, deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, and does not use them to train models, per its published retention policy. If you'd rather send nothing, skip these features · everything else works with data entered by hand.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights: cookieless, aggregate page metrics that tell us which pages load and how fast. No advertising trackers, no sale of data, no cross-site profiling. Standard server logs (IP address, timestamp) are kept briefly by our hosting provider for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
Partnership form
If you submit the partnership or teacher-waitlist form, the name and email you provide are used to respond to you. They are not currently stored in any database.
