U of T GPA calculator for Ontario applicants.
U of T reports a 4.0 GPA (A+ and A both cap at 4.0). This page shows the exact percentage cutoffs the Registrar publishes, so a percentage syllabus mark rolls straight into a U of T letter and grade point.

How U of T calculates GPA
The rules, straight from University of Toronto Registrar · Grading Scales and Notations.
- U of T undergraduate scale: A+ = 4.0 (90-100%), A = 4.0 (85-89%), A- = 3.7 (80-84%), B+ = 3.3 (77-79%), B = 3.0 (73-76%), B- = 2.7 (70-72%), C+ = 2.3 (67-69%), C = 2.0 (63-66%), C- = 1.7 (60-62%), D+ = 1.3 (57-59%), D = 1.0 (53-56%), D- = 0.7 (50-52%), F = 0.0 (below 50%). Effective September 1998.
- The Faculty of Arts and Science reports three GPAs: Sessional (SGPA · your fall term, winter term, or summer session), Annual (AGPA · once after the Fall/Winter session), and Cumulative (CGPA · across every completed course to date).
- GPA is credit-weighted: full-credit courses count 1.0, half-credit courses count 0.5. Grade points earned are summed and divided by the credits attempted with a grade.
- The A+ / A collapse at 4.0 is intentional · U of T does not use a 4.3 scale. This differs from Queen's, which caps at 4.30.
- For OMSAS, OLSAS, or ORPAS applications, your U of T percentages are re-converted using the OUAC scale · that is a separate 4.0 calculation with different rules. Use the OMSAS / OLSAS / ORPAS pages for application-cycle estimates.
This is an estimate. The University of Toronto Registrar produces your official SGPA / AGPA / CGPA on your transcript · this is your own working number.
The percentage cutoffs and grade points here come straight from the U of T Registrar page linked below. Faculty-specific rules (repeat policies, credit/no-credit designations, extra courses) may change how a course counts toward your degree GPA · this tool does not model those exclusions.
